EYFS/KS1 Specilaist Unit: Elm Class Curriculum Overview

We chose to work with Chapel Green Complex Needs School in Norfolk.

The Chapel Green Curriculum covers all elements of the National Curriculum whilst enabling delivery of Section F provision and is the vehicle we use to move pupils forward from their individual starting points/stage using a personalised approach.

This was introduced in Summer 2025, and we are now working to embed this across all 3 Specialist Units.

Assessment within the Specialist Units includes:

All main school assessments e.g. Teacher Assessments and Sapientia Foundational Knowledge Tests
Progress towards EHCP Outcomes
Curriculum Stage Development Assessment Grid

Main school programmes of learning including White Rose Maths, The Write Stuff etc continue to be utilised as appropriate tools within the Specialist Units. All Specialist Units follow the whole school Phonics programme Read Write Ink.
